Resumen (Presentación general del programa): My Guardian Challenge is a dynamic contest that inspires students, families, and schools to green and regenerate their homes and campuses through ten eco-challenges. This initiative, in collaboration with Costa Rica’s Ministry of Education and the private sector, leverages technology for data tracking and impact measurement. It has secured over $80,000 in in-kind donations, empowering participants to take meaningful environmental action.Since 2019, the program has engaged 546 schools across all seven provinces, directly involving 56,823 students and 1,004 participants from home. Outcomes include:306 compost bins created or improved. 435 edible gardens established or enhanced215 pollinator-friendly gardens developed. 1,589 trees planted10,760 kg of waste recycled. 1,917 kg of waste removed through community cleanups. Spanning 54 cantons, including indigenous reserves, it aims to foster a culture of sustainability and regeneration.
